On June 29th of this year, at just after 3:30 in the afternoon, a fire erupted in the Lime Ridge Open Space just East of Ygnacio Valley Road, reportedly caused by a car backfiring on the side of the road.
With dry and windy conditions, the fire quickly consumed over 300 acres and threatened many homes in the Crystal Ranch and Montecito neighborhoods.
From this spot, you can view the area that burned less than six months ago.
And yet, as we get ready to turn the page to 2019, life is already returning. Grass is growing, and green has quickly overtaken the scorched earth.
