This cache was originally put out by another cacher. It was apparently archived awhile back but the container was left in place. A cacher just happened to stop into the visitor center today and the volunteer on duty said there was a cache right there! The cacher didn't find the cache online so there was some confusion. I was contacted about the cache and noticed the old one had indeed been archived! So I'm bringing it back!! It's the same container and log.

A large lock-n-lock behind the counter at the Romero Visitor Center. Ask the host for the geocache. Romero Visitor Center is open from 9 to 5 seven days a week, except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. However, a few other times a year they are closed because the employees are taking training elsewhere. If you are planning on coming here specifically, please feel free to call the day before to confirm they will be open: (209) 827-5353.
The Romero Overlook Visitors Center commands a dramatic panorama of the 385-foot-tall rock and earthfill dam that stores 652 billion gallons of water in San Luis Reservoir. The displays are well worth the time to explore. They provide interesting information about the California water system, lots of local history, and views of the lake and dam.
