‘Red Light Hill’ gained its nickname thanks to a beacon once presented. It is believed that, when Kai Tak airport was still in use, the beacon (which would emit red signals) helped denote the presence of terrain near the flight path of an approaching aircraft. As the airport was relocated, the beacon was also abolished, yet the hill has remained to be called as 'Red Light Hill' by many. Btw some high school students like to date here, so you may see them if you come on weekdays :P Have a nice walk and enjoy the view of Kowloon City!
