Sculpture Garden Flashmob Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Oz Mega Committee: The time has arrived to archive the Sculpture Garden Flashmob and BBQ event. Its not too late to post your “Attended Log “ if you have forgotten .
The Committee wishes to thank the ACT Environment Minister Mick Gentleman for getting into the spirit and being flashed from all directions amongst the sculptures . Also Linda Roberts as well, for her involvement and their encouraging speeches at the bbq .
Much praise goes to Graham-Grimraider and James-Jusojara on Committee for the bbq’s brought in and cooking duties. Many thanks to others as well with food purchases duties, preparations and clean ups.
We have 170 GC teams with attended logs to date ,which means well over 230 people combined in the flashmob and BBQ afterwards.
This was the final official event during the whole event period and many geocachers left after the BBQ for their long journeys home.

We thank all those attendees for making the Easter Monday , Australian War Memorial venue event a great way to officially finish on ,their good behaviour and the Committee appreciates all geocacher's long travels to be part of a memorable time in the region.
Kind regards,
Greg

Geocache Description:

22 April 2019, 11:30 - 12:00

A small table and the ACT Minister for Environment and Heritage, Mick Gentleman and Heritage Festival co-ordinator Linda Roberts will be the centre piece ready to be flash-mobbed at 11.30 sharp on Easter Monday. The event will start at 11.30 and conclude at 12 noon .You will need to assemble about 11.15 ish a good 50m to 100m away and look as though you are a tourist admiring the army tanks or sculptures ,etc. At 11.30 ,its then time to flashmob the Minister.

We also urge you to spend some time in the Australian War Memorial especially if you have not been for awhile ,as it is a continually expanding exhibition and memorial. Entry is either FREE or gold coin donation.

There is plenty of FREE parking on the day as parking ticket machines waive the fees on public holidays. Plenty of caches are nearby including many multis of great historical significance.

A FREE BBQ for all attendees will follow in Rememberance Park just behind the War Memorial. The BBQ spot is only 200m m from the exact Flashmob location.FREE meals and drinks will be supplied . A chat about the OzGeo muster will be given.

We look forward to your exciting Will Attend to the Flashmob event which will double as your attendance to the BBQ event to follow. Dont forget the final campfire night at the showground .
