St. Louis ponds were created by the construction of I-5, these ponds were dug out for gravel needed for the freeway nearby. They began to fill in with water, and over time became this neat park that has half a dozen different kinds of fish to try to catch, One of which is stocked yearly with rainbow trout. (pond #3) It is managed by ODFW. There are many wheelchair accessible fishing platforms, and other areas to get close to the water. This park is open dawn to dusk, but the gate to the main park is closed from Oct. 1st. to March 1st. However you are permited to park along the road and easily walk in.It is not a long walk at all.( Not wheel chair accessible during these months.)
This cache provides a nice opportunity to CITO ( cache in trash out ). Some of the users of this park, sadly leave their garbage behind while fishing. There are plenty of garbage cans and a large dumpster provided to place garbage in. you are looking for a 32 oz screw top plastic container painted camo, hiding in a traditional geocaching way, Please put the lid on tightly and replace natural camo.
