I have always liked looking out for these barn quilts while out for a drive or caching along the back roads, it kind of makes the drive a little more pleasant in
HURON COUNTY.
This community park dates back to 1924 as a 5 acre lot given to nearby church who maintain the park. Revitalizing back in 2011 as a gathering place for area families and passing travellers. The square represents the parkland and diamond representing the youth playing baseball. The two symbolizing community, church and families support. The purple and gold were chosen to reflect the former Usborne Township colours and the centre cross representing the faithful stewardship of the church nearby.
IPM 2017 is where the barn quilt craze mainly started in Huron County as a contest.
Barn quilts originally started there roots in Ohio.
Barn quilts tell stories.
The proper size for a barn quilt is 8'x8'.
They draw motorists to our rural highways, roads that have many stories to tell.
Barn Quilts are rural graffiti – civic art about sacred places, battlefields, and historic locations.
Cache is located by a deep ditch.
As usual always WATCH YOUR STEP, CAN BE A BUSY ROAD, WATCH FOR TRAFFIC.
PLEASE DO NOT FIND this cache at night - the placement is contingent on finds OCCURRING DURING THE DAY.
ABSOLUTELY NO NIGHT CACHING, RESPECT THE NEARBY HOMEOWNERS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH QUITE A FEW OF THEM AND ASSURED THEM THAT THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN.
Happy Caching
