Welcome to the Latrobe Valley Geocaching Event
Welcome to the Latrobe Valley Geocaching (what we hope will become) Annual Event to be held at Lake Hyland Picnic Ground in Churchill on Sunday 24th February at 11am.
This is our attempt to revive the annual Latrobe Valley get together that was once organized by ‘Trunksnsuch’ and ‘Crisp Image’, two long-time local caching teams.
Come along and have a chat with other Geocachers, - some you will have met and others you may only know by their team names – to share your year’s activities, share a few great stories, as well as your aims and aspirations for the year. Join in the fun and meet some great people!
Activities planned for the event include:
- Free sausage sizzle.
- Plenty of time to talk about the hobby we all love and enjoy.
- ‘Ice-breaker’ activities so we can all get to know each other.
- Kids activities
- Prizes.
Make sure you bring your ‘fully-charged’ GPS or similar device with you, as you may need it for a few surprises during the event, and of course when you go caching in the local area before and after!
More details as the event gets closer!
Lake Hyland is an ideal venue with a sheltered picnic area, barbecues, children’s and bigger kids playground, lake views with ducks to feed (peas are the go!), walking/bike paths and caches nearby. A number of newer caches have been released recently round Churchill as well!
