The production quantity of Saitama prefecture's udon is the most to Kagawa prefecture's. Udon is a familer food for people of Saitama prefecture, such as it was said that woman who couldn't make udon noodle couldn't marry in the past. When relatives gather, an old family in Saitama serves udon for a event food in a fine day even now. Udon has the meaning, "a good thing continue long and frugally". In addition, various local udon culture is taking root in each places of the prefecture, such as Kazo udon, Kawajhima suttate udon, Konosu kawahaba udon and Kumagaya udon, etc. and it is said that there is big or small 25 kinds of udon in the prefecture.
