Geocache Description:

Ancient A̶u̶t̶o̶b̶o̶t Decepticon Burial Ground #40

WARNINGS:
  • Please do not leave a comment or take any pictures that might give clues where the final cache is located.
  • Stealth is also required, so don't hang around the cache too long. It's actually recommended to find this when you expect there to be less traffic on the roads; and as with most caches, find a safe spot to park [which is NOT right beside the Decepticon] and walk over to it. When you find him, and park near him, you most likely will have to cross the street (better parking on the opposite side he is on), but when you cross, go right up till you get to a fence, then follow the fence line to the left (this avoids you walking on the side of the road which could be dangerous).

Autobots are slowly exacting their revenge against the evil Decepticons...

First navigate to the following coordinates and observe the deceased Decepticon: N 45° 17.451 W 075° 58.128 (Stage 1). This is a Decepticon that the Autobots took out recently. The goal is to not find his Energon cube, but instead to find the lost Energon cube from his cousin. His cousin was a Decepticon that was taken out a very long time ago, where his body has stayed for many years now. Decepticons never recovered his body, as how he rests, it looks like he may still be alive, watching and striking fear into the hearts of the Autobots that drive by.

Investigating the Decepticon at N 45° 17.451 W 075° 58.128 (Stage 1) will uncover 3 pieces of information that will be needed to find his Decepticon cousin.

1. Below is the the true north bearing to travel in, which will allow you to easily see the Decepticon (Note: This direction represents the best "line" to travel in order to see him, but his actual 'body' might be slightly off from that "line"). This bearing is from the posted coordinates of N45° 17.589' W075° 58.323' (and NOT the from Stage 1). It is reported that his body is within 3.2 km of the posted coordinates, which coincidentally enough happens to be the same maximum distance allowed for a container to be at for a puzzle cache. Note: the terms used below may be common knowledge for Transformers, humans however, may need to consult the internet to understand the differences between those two Decepticon factions.

You also need to look around 9 meters North-West of the Decepticon, and look for a word/title. It ends in an 'N' and the border of this font is the same color as the Decepticon. Let 'X' be equal to the number of letters in that word/title.

Bearing:
  • 47º if the Decepticon at this site is a member of the Combaticons and 'X' is even
  • 227º if the Decepticon at this site is a member of the Combaticons and 'X' is odd
  • 139º if the Decepticon at this site is a member of the Constructicons and 'X' is even
  • 319º if the Decepticon at this site is a member of the Constructicons and 'X' is odd

3. It is reported that his cousin is the inverted color of him - which happens to be one of the following:

  • if the color of the Decepticon at the site is white, then his cousin is black
  • if the color of the Decepticon at this site is red, then his cousin is light blue
  • if the color of the Decepticon at the site is green, then his cousin is pink

4. It is reported that his cousin is the same 'type' of Decepticon. So if the Decepticon is a type of "tank", then he is a "tank"... if he's a type of "cement-mixer", then his cousin is a "cement mixer", if he's a type of "digger", then his cousin is a type of "digger", or a boat.... or an airplane.... you get the point.

Now armed with the bearing, maximum distance, the type and the color of the Decepticon, you should be able to find him, and search for his lost Energon cube nearby.

Be sure to private message me if you know of any other undiscovered Autobot burial grounds (old cars/trucks/motorcycles/skidoos or random scraps of metal) in, or near, Ottawa ;) - and don't forget to 'favorite' these if you are enjoying the series (this also increases the visibility of this series, and will draw in more cachers).
