Look out Newcastle......
Geocaching NSW extends an invitation to all geocachers to join us in the beautiful Newcaste area for our 2019 Regional Expedition during the weekend of the 16th/17th February 2019.
Stockton is about a 2.5 hour drive north of Sydney and about 4 hours south of Coffs Harbour making it well within the reach of many geocachers.
There are oodles of fabulous geocaches to be found in the region to keep you busy all weekend. Maybe team up with a few friends to make for a memorable weekend bookended by our Geocaching NSW events.
Geocaching NSW hosts yearly expeditions to help support local geocaching communities in reginoal areas of NSW. The expeditions also highlight opportunities to cache in areas outside of your usual boundaries with the added bonus of hanging out with like minded souls.
Our first event on Saturday evening is dinner at Boatrowers Hotel. According to their website, 'The Boatrowers' offers a nice bistro, and outoor dining area.
Event Deails
Date: Saturday, 16th February, 2019
Venue: Boatrowers Hotel - 130A Fullerton Street, Stockton
Time: 6:30pm meet in the club; tables have been booked from 7:00pm
Menu: We will be dining in 'The Boatrowers'. The menu features a variety of contemporary meals as well as old favourites. There are vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free options.
Cost: Meals can be paid for at time of ordering.
Bookings: To assist us with determining numbers for this event for table bookings, please indicate how many from your team will be dining with us in your “Will Attend” log. Based on the information provided in those logs, we will be confirming numbers with the club on Wednesday, 13th February.
Dress: Normal club dress regulations apply including footwear.
After dining, for those who would like to, we will gather in one of the club's lounge areas to continue our socialising. If there are geocachers who would like to attend this event but don't wish to dine with us, then this would be the time to come along. If this is what you prefer, in your "Will Attend" log, could you please indicate that you will not be dining with us.
Accommodation
There is plenty of accommodation around Stockton including B&Bs, hotels, motels, caravan and camping parks. An internet search will come up with a number of options for you to choose from.
Events are a great way to meet new people and make friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about everyones latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.
