I came over to Tahiti in December 2018 with a few caching buddies funkymunkyzone and Supernanny. We stayed 7 nights and had a fantastic time driving around this island and also Mo'orea. We came to these waterfalls and noticed there was no cache! But we had a good look around here and I looked just a little too far and fell over, really grazed my arm and couldn't find my cellphone, I went back to the car, called for help from my caching mates and eventually I found it! So these falls will be remembered by me for this reason apart from the sublime beauty of the main falls Vaimahuta.
Anyway, we found out later we could place a cache here, so I chose to put one close to these impressive falls. Car-parking is available just 5 mins from the falls. Walk over the bridge and carry on up to the falls. Co-ordinates were hard to obtain, I WP averaged the co-ords for 10 minutes so I hope they are OK. But I'm giving you detailed instructions and several photos to get you there.
The cache is hidden in a hole, is able to be kept dry. Turn your back to the falls, you will see 2 large Tahitian Chestnut trees (photo) walk in-between these, in-between the big rocks (photo) turn right and right in front of you a few meters, you'll see where I am pointing (photo) is a hole (photo) and the cache is in there.
