Hike, bike or roller blade your way along the boardwalk and paved path!
The total round trip distance is about 4km and if you walk it, expect about an hour.
This urban adventure will take you along Moncton's portion of the popular Riverfront Trail. The 2 km stretch you'll cover is this cities portion of the 11,475 km Trans Canada Trail system. As a point of interest, just across the little walking bridge from your starting area is one of the 56 dedication pavillions located across Canada. Here you can have your name engraved for contributing to the Trail. (visit link)
Like other caches of this type, you need to pick up information as you go. The last clue location contains the final instructions. In cases where there may be some confusion, I've placed checksums (add the digits together) to verify the correct number. A good place to park is at The Landing Bend complex or even better, Chateau Moncton on Main Street.
NOTE: This is not a winter-friendly cache as snow may cover some key points.

OK, let's go!
(1). The co-ordinates given above are the STARTING POINT. Stand on the compass rose and count about 12 steps north. Record the year of the FIRST SETTLERS.
Checksum: 20
(1A). Your next waypoint is at 46 04.790N 64 46.822W. It holds the instructions to complete this cache. But as you head for that destination, you need to grab a few visual clues to make this all work: (You won't need your GPSr for a bit so you may want to turn it off and conserve batteries).
(2). Continue your pleasant journey by the river to the second location at Bore Park. When you arrive, seek out the 3-masted monument and record the birth date of Moncton's first mayor. If you're lucky you could catch a natural phenomenon while you're here. Head back on the trail continuing to the right- either down the steps or the walkway ramp.
(3). Stop in the middle of the large red circle, look northwest beyond the walkway towards the street. It's the tallest thing around. Count the number of platforms below the top. Write down this number as you walk a short jaunt to the next stop.
(4). At the Irish Monument, find the pillar that has the name, John Friel. Look toward the horizon just to the left of this pillar and count the number of red stripes you see. Record the number.
(5). Just ahead is Millennium Gardens. Find the large stone with all the information on it. (You can read it if you like but you don't need anything from it.) It's really only a reference point to get you set up for the next set of instructions. From where you are standing in this maze-like layout, you need to walk this pattern while following the contours of the gravel walkways:
(All turns are 90 degrees). Turn right, take 7 steps; turn right, take 6 steps; turn left, take 15 steps; turn left, take 6 steps; turn right, take 3 steps. You should end up standing on a round metal object facing a certain direction. Look up. Off in the distance, straight ahead, find the object with a beige pyramid roof rising up from the downtown buildings. How many faces of TIME can you see?
You need to fire up the GPSr now as you proceed along the trail to the waypoint you entered earlier. At this location, you'll find a small, well hidden package that has the instructions to complete the journey. When you finish the quiz, you should end up with a 3-digit number in which the checksum = 17. Please re-hide well. The location of the cache is around a popular spot. Try to be discreet from your point of entry from the back near the fence and be considerate of the area. You're looking for a screw top container in camo colours. On the combo lock, use the side with the arrow. Dial up the numbers to unlock and pull out the pin. Please replace the cap tightly and reinsert the pin. Rehide well.
The new contents are:
- log book
- level
- glow sticks
- stickers
- keychain
