Geocache Description:


Hekikaizan Kofun (Tumulus) is one of old tombs in Anjo City. Kofun constructed between later half of 3rd century and later half of 7th century is megalithic tomb in Japan. Hekikaizan Kofun is a round burial mound. The kofun is north to south about 22 meters long, east to west about 18 meters long and about 4 meters in height.

The nearest station to Hekikaizan Kofun is "Horiuchi Park Station".
It takes about 5 minutes on foot from the station.

This cache is hidden near the Kofun.

碧海山古墳の墳丘東側や北側のすそは一部削られていますが、南北約22m、東西約17.5m、高さ4mの円墳です。直径と比較して高さがあり、墳頂の平坦な面が大きいことが、特徴としてあげられます。墳丘が高いことから、竪穴式石室系統の主体部があったと推定されます。安城市桜井古墳群のなかでは、前期に属する大型円墳です。
