Dies ist eine Kombo aus Letterbox und TB-Hotel zur "Alten Post Burkersdorf"
Burkersdorf liegt ca. 5 km südlich von Altenburg am Mittellauf der Blauen Flut. Die älteste überlieferte Namensform war um 1200 Borchistorf und 1336 Borkdorf. Daraus schloss man auf einen slawisch-deutschen Mischnamen (= Dorf eines Borek), welcher später mit Burkhard umgebildet und an die deutsche Ortsnamengebung angeglichen wurde. Einheimische nennen Ihren Ort heute immernoch ugs. „Borkschdorf“. 1996 beging das Dorf das 660. Jahr der ersten urkundlichen Erwähnung aus 1336.
Der Ort selbst besteht aus 2 "Teilen": dem Kern im Tal und dem Gebiet entlang der B7. Diese beiden "Teile" sind auch Bestandteil dieses Caches.
Im Kern von Burkersdorf fand und findet man ein sehr reges Feuerwehrleben. An der heutigen B7 befand sich einst das bekannte "Gasthaus zum kühlen Morgen" und eine alte Poststation. Der Gasthof wurde vor einiger Zeit wegen Verfalles abgerissen. Das Gebäude der alten Post existiert noch heute und befindet sich seit 1906 im Familienbesitz der Vorfahren der Fähe.
Diesem zu Ehren haben wir in Burkersdorf ein kleines TB-Hotel aufgebaut, welches wie es sich für eine Post gehört, natürlich auch einen eigenen Stempel (Letterbox) beinhaltet.

This is a combo of letterbox and TB-Hotel for "Alte Post Burkersdorf"
Burkersdorf is about 5 km south of Altenburg on the middle course of the river "Blaue Flut". The oldest surviving name was around 1200 Borchistorf and 1336 Borkdorf. From this one concluded a Slavic-German mixed name (= village of a Borek), which was later transformed with Burkhard and adapted to the German place name. Locals still call your place colloquial "Borkschdorf". In 1996 the village celebrated the 660th year of the first documentary mention from 1336.
The place itself consists of 2 "parts": the core in the valley and the area along the B7. These two "parts" are also part of this cache.
In the core of Burkersdorf you can find a very active fire department life. On today's B7 there was once the well-known "Gasthaus zum kühlen Morgen" and an old post station. The inn was demolished some time ago due to decay. The old post office building still exists today and has been in the family possession of the ancestors of the vixen since 1906.
In honor of this, we have set up a small TB hotel in Burkersdorf, which of course also includes its own stamp (letterbox) as it should be for a post office.

EN hint: To get to the letterbox / the hotel, you have to find the only remaining "outpost" of the Deutsche Post in the center of Burkersdorf. At the gatekeeper (273m/112°) you have to name the local code that has been in effect since 1993.
