This was the first geocache that I looked for when I arrived in California; but alas, it had already been muggled. (Hence, the "Take Two" part of the title). So what better place to put my first hide. This place deserves a geocache if for no other reason than historic purposes. Although there's a new baseball field right next to this, this spot serves as a reminder to the old days when Moffett Field was a bustling Naval Air Station. Although it was only opened for about 60 years, its impact on Naval Aviation is significant. There is a museum on base if you want to know more about the base or Naval Aviation.
Moffett Field is open to the public - however, your driver's license or ID is required to get through either the Moffett Blvd or Ellis Street gates.
I have received permission for the placement of this Geocache from the NASA Ames Research Park Chief of Security and Public Inquiries Officer.
A mini FTF coin is in the cache as well as logbook and pencil. Please don't steal the pencil.
