Geocache Description:

17 March 2019, 11:00 - 13:00

A Ceilidh in the Country

(Ceilidh - A traditional Irish or Scottish gathering. Pronounced "kayli")

Come join us for a great geo-gathering and find your own Pot o' Gold in Mudgee!

One of the many wonderful aspects of geocaching is that it takes you to wonderful places you haven't been to or haven't visited for a while. Mudgee is one such wonderful place.

There's so much to do in and around the region of Mudgee. Bring your pushbikes and go exploring, (there's a guide you can download here). You can try a little fossicking, who knows you might strike it rich! Look for a bargain in the local markets. Discover the heritage of the area including some great museums. Scout out lots of natural wonders. Tour the many superb wineries and sample their delicious produce! And, of course, find geocaches!!!!!

While you're in town, come and meet fellow geocachers and join us for an enjoyable geocaching Meet'n'Greet gathering.

Details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 17th March, 2019 - St Patrick's Day

Time: 11am to 1pm

Location: Covered Picnic Shelter, Lawson Park, Mudgee

Parking: See parking waypoints

What to Bring: The event is a "BYO Everything" picnic so please provide all your own food and drink requirements. There are free BBQs available There are plenty of take-away food options in Mudgee also. We're hoping to secure a spot under the picnic shelter however it might be a good idea to throw in some folding chairs and/or a picnic rug.

Group Photo: This will be taken at approximately 12pm so hope you can be there for that.

Trackables: There will be two trays for trackables. One tray will be for "Discovery Only" trackables, (please don't take any of these) and the second tray will be for trackables wanting to continue travelling. If you're bringing trackables to travel on, please log them into the event before you come.

St Patrick's Day: In celebration of this important day for the Irish, please wear something appropriate and/or green.

Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software, share stories about the latest caching adventure and swap travel bugs and geocoins. You may even pick up a hint on those pesky DNFs or get a clue or two on how to solve some of those puzzle caches that have stumped you. All are welcome to attend particularly new players to the game.

Please post your "Will Attend" log so that you receive any announcements regarding this event.

We are really looking forward to welcoming you to Mudgee and hope you can come along and participate in the fun.

Cheers,

Churpy, squirrels0291 and Calypso62
