I have been walking through this area a few times recently ....looking to place some new caches...
This seemed a logical spot for my second placement !
Lovely place for dog walking here...met several in a short space of time after work today!
There is a big Information Board here which will tell you all you need to know about the stream...what lives in it; where it goes ; and about Plantings of Native Plants to assist with preventing bank erosion, and with filtering pollution .
The headwaters of the stream start here ...and end in Hobson Bay .
Apparently Longfin Eel , Giant Kokopu and Freshwater Bully all reside here ...
Plus Waiata means Song in Maori...so listen out for birdsong!
You will not need to clamber under the bridge for this ! I have made it more civilzed !
