During its debut in the summer of 2016, Riverside's Crescent Park was a hot spot for a certain mobile game (that will not be named) involving the "capturing" of fictional creatures. So many people would "go" play the game here at Crescent Park that the grass around the carousel part of the park was trampled into dirt and during warm summer evenings a passerby could think there was some sort of convention ongoing in the park it was so populated with people. The popularity of this game has certainly diminished over time, but it seemed fitting to create a hopefully straightforward puzzle incorporating the namesake of Crescent Park into it.
