History Lesson:
This headquarters, in the small village of St. Jacobs, was founded in 1967 by Walter Hachborn and a couple of others. Walter, who was also known as Mr. Hardware started working at Hollinger Hardware as a stock boy in 1938 and worked his way up to the ladder of business ownership. He bought into a partnership in 1950 and learned the ropes from his late boss Gordon Hollinger. After over 50 years of business his company has grown to 1100 stores and counting. Unfortunately, Walter passed away in 2016 but his legacy continues in the building supply business.
