Geocache Description:

This cache, located at St.John's Winter Activity Centre (aka Pippy Park Campground) is intended to bring together two activities:  geocaching, along with skiing, snowshoeing or winter trekking.

In winter, the campground is transformed in to three main lower loops, the Slope, Junction Loop and Cabot Trail Loop.  The summertime overflow camping area is the Bunny Loop, for those just getting their ski legs under them or getting used to snowshoes (which can be rented for a small free at the North Bank Lodge).  Above the Junction Loop there are also a couple more loops for more experienced skiers: The Eagle's Perch and Avalon Loop.

Day or night, you will find people of all levels of ability and experience; everyone is certainly welcome.

This cache is placed just behind one of the entrances to the park, just beyond the minimum distance needed between geocaches.  It is a 750mL camo'd container, hid in a winter friendly manner (of course).  Given that people are always taking little side adventures through the trees, muggles who may be around will likely not find your geocaching behaviour unordinary, yet use good geocaching common sense, beware of muggles, and do not attract attention to the cache area while on your search.  Should you come at night for a ski or snowshoe (an incredibly fun thing to do at the well-lit area), you could have the cover of darkness assist in your attempt to be more stealth.

Upon initial hide, the cache had the usual swag, logsheet and a TB.

Happy Trails!
