Geocache Description:

(EN) The Žiče mansion built between 1621 and 1631, the Carthusian wreaths, which dominated 600 years ago. The mansion was an important economic center for them. His premises were once richly furnished and luxurious. In the niche on the eastern outer side of the chapel is a quality Baroque sculpture of St.Janeza the Baptist, which was supposed to have been brought from Zice Monastery after the First World War. A special attention is paid to the chapel, which is decorated with well-preserved stucco. It is the highest quality work in the Slovenian Styria and is closely related to the tomb of Emperor Ferdinand II. in Graz, because the stucco decoration of the crypt is very similar to the Oplotnica. The chapel used to have rich equipment and many oil paintings. Especially known is the forged fence, but the only one was saved because they were thrown into the attic. The chapel also had an altar dedicated to Mary the Virgin. The property was completely restored in 2010 through European funds.   Attention, at night, the treasure is not accessible because the castle gate is requested.
