Cache is a Bison size plastic screw top tube with cammo tape covering. There is CCTV all around the Hall, so don't attract unnecessary attention.
Easy parking nearby. If the Hall is in use, the gate will be open and parking may be readily available on-site; if the gate is shut there is plenty of parking along Belvoir Road.
The Victory Commemoration Hall, or VC Hall as it is known locally, has stood on the same site since 1947. The original building had begun life as the wooden Women's Institute Hall in Elton, a few miles away. The Elton WI sold the 'temporary' wooden structure to the Commemorative Hall Committee for a 'good price'.
The Committee hoped that once the shortage of bricks in the immediate post war period was over, then a brick hall would replace it, what actually happened was the old wooden hall was extended and revamped many times over the next 50 years.
In 2003 a successful bid to the National Lottery enabled the construction of a new building. The majority of the money came from the Lottery, but grants were also obtained from other funders such as the local authorities. Significantly, over £38,000 was raised within the village itself.
