Postcode Cache - Bravo Lima 1
BL1 postcode area covers the town centre of Bolton. The published coordinates are for a location connected with a prominent Bolton personage. There's no container there so don't bother looking. That's as far as your phone or GPSr will take you.
This is a letterbox hybrid cache and pays homage to the earlier hobby of letterboxing, a lo-tech precursor of geocaching. Since the GPS system wasn't around in 1854 when the hobby began, finders had to rely on instructions to find the container. That's what you are going to have to do.
- From the item at the posted coordinates, perform an about turn so you are looking directly away from it towards the main road.
- Turn right and walk 150 metres, crossing to the East side of the road where it is safe to do so (there are pedestrian crossings).
- Turn left and walk 260 metres in a roughly Easterly direction.
- Turn left again and walk 145 metres.
- Just before the gigantic man-made structure, leave the path to the right and walk to the fence line.
- You will find the container at the base of a small tree very close to the corner of the structure.
Have fun!
