A pleasant walk in the forest, with one up and downy bit (which looks a lot worse than it is). Start off at the Forest of Bere Car park, and head into the forest going down the path between the two playgrounds. There's a stall where you can grab a coffee to take with you.
As this is a Hundred Acre wood I couldn't resist calling this, our first Geocache, "Winnie the Pooh". Hopefully you will all understand why. This is one of our favorite family walking locations, and there is another geocache to the other end of the wood. So we thought we would hide one at the total other end of the country park thus allowing even more of the forest to be explored whilst hunting for a Geocache! The terrain is quite flat and has a gravel track for the vast majority of it, with a few benches along the way to take a rest or eat your sarnies. There is one bit where there is a down and uppy bit - where because you are looking down the slope at another slope going up it looks megga steep - but it isn't! It is a trick of the mind. Once you've conquered that it is a short walk further to our geocache location. Start your walk at the Forest of Bere Car park, setting off down the track between the two play ground (tell the kids they can play on the way back!), you can get a coffee at a stall there before setting off too.
