Letterbox Hybrid
Letterboxing is another form of treasure hunting that uses CLUES instead of coordinates.
These types of geocaches will contain a stamp that is meant to remain in the box and is used by letterboxers to record their visit. This Hybrid uses both. To read more about letterboxing, visit Letterboxing North America.
When you find the cache, log it by signing the log as you normally would and then stamp the log with your stamp. Then, stamp your personal log book with the stamp in the Cache. If you don’t have a stamp, that’s okay too; just sign the log like you would any other cache.
PLEASE LEAVE THE STAMP IN THE CACHE!!
The listing coordinates is a good place to park along Elk Street. When I was in Grade School, West Street had a T intersection with Elk Street. From the Listing coords Elk Street went down the steep hill and up again heading toward downtown. Looking down the hill you can see where Elk Street continues. I would meet a friend on who lived on West St. and we would walk down the hill together to get to school.
The T intersection is now a large curve in the road. Elk Street is blocked off by a guard rail. As you can see, that happened quite a while ago. Not only has that section of street been cut off, trees have grown and died on the right of way.
To find the cache, please locate and check out the guard rail. You will find a Kirk Style container there.
