Shawnee is a long way from Radiator Springs, but it seems while Mater's family was traveling along Route 66, some of them decided to settle here in Shawnee. Word on the street is that Mater himself stops in every once in a while to pay a visit. You may want to come chat it up with Mater's cousins about McQueen's upcoming Piston Cup.
Fun fact: Did you know that Mater's voice was inspired by a man from Erick, OK named Harley Russell? Larry the Cable Guy even spent time with Russell before filming to learn his voice.
