Geocaching Research Institute - Squirrel Barrier Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

bnelson333: Believe it or not, the squirrels bested this one. I tried to pick up the remnants today but I couldn't find anything. I'll let someone else try this spot, thanks for visiting!

Geocache Description:

NOTE - You do not need to go down the hill! The cache is in the beacon just a few feet off the path. Watch your step, it's a little steep and slippery here.

These caches intend to specifically test an aspect of geocaching. In this case, is this design an effective squirrel barrier? Our last cache here was destroyed by critters and I want to see if this design lasts longer. Please remember to lift up the bell/hood to access the log and put it back down so that it completely covers the cap when done.

While we can't make you do this, we'd really appreciate if you could tell us how the cache is holding up in your log. This will help us gauge the effectiveness of the design. Thanks!
