This cache is part of a series called “New home, new culture”
Our family recently moved from sunny South Africa to small town South Western Ontario. We got introduced to a lot of new Canadian things, like all the new sports, the laid back lifestyle of just sitting in a park, or the regular afternoon walk on the community walking trail.
So, this series is a little glimpse of these new things we had to learn and experience. We had to learn how to skate and enjoy hockey, learned to curl, learned how to play baseball not as a cricketer and catch with a glove, support the local farmer’s market in the park, all while staying fit walking the Wingham trail.
Every Wednesday afternoon, from June to September, the farmers market gets set up in this park, offering locally grown produce, meats, flowers and honey; locally made maple syrup, artisanal bread, baked goods, and crafts. Come December, and this is the place to come and view the Christmas lights. Any other time, just sit down and relax!
The original cache included a little FTF trophy, an African animal (Hippo), folding scissor (it is safely folded with no sharp edges exposed), a carabiner, maze game, rubber bouncy ball, some pirates gold and a Rock-Paper-Scissor eraser set. Look for a black PB jar.
