Geocache Description:

Dec. 2018 and Jan. 2019 Vader&zoon (The Netherlands) stayed with friends in the villages of Almalybaq and Zhalpaksay, just west of the big city of Almaty. We spent New Year with our friends and as a souvenir of the great time we had, we have left a cache nearby.

Nauryzbai Batyr (1706-1781), was a famous Khazak batyr. 'Batyr' is an honorific term meaning ‘hero’ in the Khazakh language. Nauryzbai Batyr was a warrior, a military commander. He was known for his great physical strength and winning duels with several well-known Dzungar batyrs in the Dzhungar-Kazakh wars.

An impressive monument was erected here in this little park. With the mountains in the distance this makes it an interesting place to visit. We placed a short multi cache here, with only a couple of stages.

By placing this cache we also intend to make geocaching in and around Almaty more interesting. After having placed a cache at Big Almaty Lake (Almaty's first unknown cache, as far as we know) this is our second cache we placed, Almaty's first multi cache. We will leave a third one as well.

You can get to the monument by car or by bus (see reference points below).

Stages:

2) N43 12.834 E76 40.529 Here you will find a water source. On this water source you will a symbol which looks like a sun. How many ‘sun rays’ does this sun have? This number (X) multiplied by two plus nine = FG. So FG = (X*2)+9.

3) N43 12.830 E76 40.524 Here you will find a rock with a text on it. The total number of words of this text (Y) multiplied by two plus two= BC. So BC=(Y*2)+2. The total numbers of words (V) in the last line minus one = A. So A=V-1.

4) N43 12.792 E76 40.513 Here you will find some flag poles. The number of poles (Z) minus two = D. So D=Z-2.

5) N43 12.793 E76 40.501 Here you will find a statue with some digits on the front side. The 6th digit (W) plus 2 = H. So H=W+2. The 6th digit minus the 2nd digit = E.

You can find the cache here: N43° 1A.BCD   E76° 4E.FGH

Be careful while finding the cache and signing the log; there is a guard in a house in the area. A local geocacher will maintain this cache, for which we are grateful!
