Geocache Description:

We were walking in this park late one evening and two Barred owls started calling about 150 feet away from us on the trail. Our headlamps lit up their eyes. What a great experience. We have placed this cache not far from the owl sighting. The first stage is a nano container near some “owl eyes” watching you. The second stage is a large ammo container filled with all kinds of loot for the kids. When my son and I started geocaching fourteen years ago, he loved coming across a cache with cool loot. This part of the park has been somewhat forgotten. Happy hunting and watch out for the owls.

The barred owl, also known as northern barred owl or hoot owl, is a true owl native to eastern North America. Adults are large, and are brown to grey with barring on the chest.
