This is my first solo hybrid geocache/letterbox. I hope you like it! One of my hiking besties has a dog named Athena, so the letterbox stamp was carved in her honor. I planted it at the very end of the lunar Year of the Dog, but didn't get it approved til a bit later, after I relocated it a bit. I "discovered" this trail last summer and was surprised that there were no geocaches on it...yet. There are a few other letterboxes, but this is some distance from the nearest one that I am aware of! Because it is a dog themed cache, I have stocked it with dog themed items (including one trackable, which I don't think I can add until this is published!) ...well, and a few cats, since I am a kat person, after all! Also, because it is a letterbox as well, I have added some sticks and leaves to partially conceal its hiding place. Please replace them as well as possible. I have also rated it 3 for terrain based on current conditions. Water has clearly been running down this trail--there are muddy spots and slippery spots. Wear good footwear!! If this goes well, perhaps Year of the Pig will be next!
