Haystack Rock is often called the most photographed site on the Oregon Coast. Particularly at sunset, you can expect to see an army of amateur and professional photographers, many with high-end tripod-mounted cameras firing away at the Rock.
It is not uncommon to see photographers standing well out in the surf wearing waders or wetsuits, all to snag the perfect shot. The chorus of groans and palpable frustration spike when an extra-zealous cameraman moves closer and wrecks the view for all those further back.
I wanted to share some of the photos I have taken at Haystack over the past 40 years. I hope you enjoy them! Click the images to enlarge.
