Geocache Description:

A now archived cache was within a stone's throw of this site. My original intent was to replace and re-activate it. However, upon investigation on a sub-zero night, I discovered that the previous location's anatomy was altered (the lion's aft region has undergone surgery and is no longer available for hiding clandestine objects). Container in hand, I trudged onward and found an equally suitable location for a new cache in the vicinity. This cannon was discarded by the Continental Army on a lot at the corner of E. King and Ann St. During the year 1822.  It was removed to the front of No.52 N. Queen St. and planted muzzle down at the curb. It remained there until April 14th 1924.  It was then removed to this park and dedicated November 11th, 1924, Armistice Day, by post 34 American Legion.   The container is a magnetic nano. A nearby bench is a convenient spot to sign the log and not draw attention from passersby. Bring your own pen and kindly replace as found. As always, be aware of your surroundings and practice stealth. Happy caching... As of 7/23/19 the cache container has been replaced with a MKH near the site of the cannon. The previous containers went MIA twice, due to animal or muggle activity. Coords updated.
