Come raggiungere la cache


Questa cache è nascosta sulla cima dello Spitz di Tonezza, a 1694 metri di altitudine.
Per raggiungere la vetta esistono due sentieri, raccordabili in un bel percorso ad anello.
La via più breve parte dalla chiesetta di Restele (WP1)o addirittura dal passo della Vena (vedi WP2); il dislivello da coprire è meno di 200 metri (circa mezz'ora di cammino).
Una alternativa un po' più impegnativa ma sicuramente più panoramica è quella di seguire il sentiero che corre in cresta partendo da località Sella (WP3), proseguendo poi per la strada dei Fiorentini fino ad incrociare l'imbocco del sentiero in corrispondenza con l'hotel ristorante Chiosco Alpino(WP4).
Giunti alla vetta è consigliabile ridiscendere verso passo della Vena per poi tornare al punto di partenza seguendo il sentiero 537. Questo anello comporta un dislivello di poco meno di 600 metri (due ore circa per raggiungere la cima).

Lo Spitz di Tonezza


Lo Spitz di Tonezza (1.694 m s.l.m.) è una montagna dell'Altopiano di Folgaria nelle Prealpi Vicentine. Il toponimo deriva dal cimbro e significa punta, cima appuntita. Il Fogazzaro nel suo romanzo Piccolo Mondo Moderno lo definisce 'Picco Astore'.
La cima dello Spitz è un bellissimo balcone panoramico sull'altopiano di Tonezza e sul Cimone, ma anche sulla parte occidentale degli altipiani: Rotzo, Luserna, Lavarone, al di là della profonda Val d'Astico.
Verso ovest il panorama a 360 gradi è interrotto dalla sagoma dei monti Toraro e Campomolon, di poco più alti.
Lo Spitz a sud presenta un ripidissimo pendio quasi completamente coperto di boscaglia, mentre a nord, Val d'Astico, precipita con imponenti bancate calcaree per circa 300 metri sulla strada dei Fiorentini e sulla Valdastico quasi mille metri più sotto.



How to reach the cache


This cache is hidden on the top of the Spitz of Tonezza, at 1694 meters of altitude.
To reach the summit there are two paths that can be connected in a beautiful ring route.
The shortest route starts from the church of Restele (WP1) or even from Passo della Vena (see WP2); the difference in height to be covered is less than 200 meters (about half an hour's walk).
An alternative a bit 'more challenging but certainly more scenic is to follow the path that runs along the ridge starting from Sella (WP3), then continuing on the road of Fiorentini until you cross the mouth of the path in correspondence with the hotel Chiosco Alpino (WP4).
At the summit it is advisable to descend towards the Vena pass and then return to the starting point following the path 537. This ring involves a difference in altitude of just under 600 meters (about two hours to reach the top).

Spitz di Tonezza


The Spitz di Tonezza (1,694 m s.l.m.) is a mountain of the Folgaria plateau in the Vicentine Prealps. The name derives from the cimbro and means tip, pointed peak. Fogazzaro in his novel "Piccolo Mondo Moderno" calls it 'Picco Astore'.
The top of the Spitz is a beautiful panoramic balcony on the Tonezza and Cimone plateaus, but also on the western part of the plateaus: Rotzo, Luserna, Lavarone, beyond the deep Val d'Astico.
To the west the 360 degree panorama is interrupted by the silhouette of the Toraro and Campomolon mountains, slightly higher.
The Spitz to the south has a very steep slope almost completely covered with bush, while to the north, Val d'Astico, falls with imposing limestone banks for about 300 meters on the road dei Fiorentini and Valdastico almost a thousand meters below.
