Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

Near the posted coordinates you will find Unley's St Andrews Presbyterian Church which was closed in 1981.
The foundation stone was laid by Sir John Duncan on February 1st 1913.
We draw your attention to the western of the two front high up stained glassed windows. We found the symbol in the middle of that window unusual and interesting. A little research gave us an explanation of its meaning.
The Church has been re-purposed as a 3 level 5 bedroom private residence.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES.

Letterboxes are found by following instructions. Geocaches are found using aGPSr. This is a Letterbox Hybrid cache and requires you to both follow instructions and also to use your GPSr.

To find the cache you will need to do the following:

Search the immediate vicinity of the posted coordinates for a parking advisory sign.
The sign may not be obvious at first. The correct sign has the number 4023 clearly visible on it.
Record its GPS coordinates (last decimal digit for S=0 and for E=8)

The cache is situated X metres at a bearing of Y degrees true from this parking advisory sign.

Now head north. (Steve will guide you.)
Once you have traveled 200 metres you should start to look for another sign with the word DANGER on it. (Look to your right as you walk).
You should find it in the next 100 metres.
There is additional writing on the correct sign.
If the additional writing is

  • High Voltage - then X = 219.9 metres and Y = 341.78 degrees
  • Do Not Enter - then X = 360.8 metres and Y = 4.52 degrees
  • Asbestos - then X = 253.5 metres and Y = 355.96 degrees

Now plot the final cache location (remember the projection is from the parking advisory sign you found earlier) and collect the prize.

As the cache container is a micro (in keeping with the series), there is only a small stamp inside it.

If you have your own Letterboxing book please feel free to add this stamp to it. Ruff_Ruff and TBQ chose it

Please leave the stamp in the container after you have used it
