This is a lovely spot to bring the family / children as there is a playground nearby and also the Wind Wand and the Coastal Walkway.
The cache is a small container. It is located in an area which was once the New Plymouth Railway yards as can be seen in the photo, below. Cachers do not need to go anywhere near the railway lines to find the cache
Nearby is one of three new railway crossings which light up with LED's and provide audio warnings as part of a safety trial. The three sites under trial are the Tasman Towers crossing, Wind Wand crossing and Cutfield Rd crossing. KiwiRail will use the results of the trial for its planning of safe railway pedestrian crossings throughout New Zealand.
Parking is available, nearby, in the Wind Wand Car Park or the Puke Ariki Car Park.
