Geocache Description:

Placed on a small island, called Traverse Island. The island is approximately 2 miles from the mainland.

Best of luck if you seek the Rabbit Bay Pirate's treasure!
This cache is approximately 2 miles out from the mainland, hidden on an uninhabited isle. We strongly advise using a large boat, as Lake Superior can get pretty rough. We have made the trip via kayak, in just under one hour, although not everyone could make it back without help from a motor boat.
Seriously, don't just hop in a canoe and try this one.
If you can manage to get to the island, the cache should be pretty easy to get to. You are looking for a large white metal box.
The flies can get pretty nasty out there, so be advised.
There are many birds on this island, which makes it an interesting trip. There are generally a couple of resident bald eagles as well.
Best of luck!
Don't forget to sign the logbook!
