African cultural values are based on a foundation of the past and present, a leading reason why elders are so well respected. Elders are acknowledged first, allowed to ask questions, and during mealtime elders should be served first. In these modern times, the respect for Elders has not been lost and can be witnessed inter alia at any institution where a queue is normally formed, e.g. banks. Elders are always served first.
"Tate Kulu" is the Oshiwambo name for an "old man". A man that deserves to be respected. An elder. A gentleman.
This specific Tate Kulu has been overseeing the street on which he resides since 2003 and has become a unique landmark.
Often photographed and always admired, he safeguards the cache which is dedicated to the Elderly of this world.
The lady in the shop by the Tate Kulu is aware of the cache. The cache maintained by by a local Geocacher.
Note: Unfortunately Tate Kulu is not safe on the streets after business closing times and therefore this cache is only to be found within business hours (Weekdays 9h-17h & Sat 9h-14h).
