Geocache Description:

First time travelers to Wichita Falls often ask “What are those little buildings at the traffic intersections?” At the published date there are twelve of these ornamental structures across the city which are part of the city’s median beautification program. The structures hide the bright stainless-steel traffic signal control boxes and help to create a friendly environment for people as they travel thru the city.

This cooperative project with the Traffic Control Division has proven to be a success for all parties. The structures help to significantly cool the control boxes which increases signal reliability and reduces maintenance costs. This is a series of caches for you to enjoy these "Little Buildings" as you tour the Wichita Falls area.

BELL TOWER - 1993

This is the 7th of the ornamental structures was located on a triangle at Jacksboro Hwy. & Central Freeway (Hwy 287) next to a major traffic artery in an attempt to help bring interest to the Wichita Falls area. The division transformed the landscape and determined that the location needed a tall structure to attract the attention of travelers. The end result was a 20 foot tall bell tower with a copper colored roof.
