Geocache Description:

Wymondham's war memorial stands on the corner of Town Green and Vicar Street, in the southern part of the town centre.

The memorial was originally unveiled in 1921 after the Great War, with additional pilasters added on the corners of the steps after World War 2. 143 names are recorded for the Great War, with a further 45 service personnel and 3 civilians who were killed in World War 2. Next to the memorial is an information board detailing the life of Lt.Col. Harry Daniels, VC, MC, Norfolk's first recipient of a Victoria Cross in the Great War.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates, and therefore not on the memorial or information board so there is no need to walk on or poke around either one. To find the cache you will need to study the information board about Harry Daniels and answer the following questions to find numbers relating to the letters A-F:

Harry joined the army in 19BA.

He married Kathleen Perry on 21st January 191C.

Harry was wounded during the battle of Neuve Chapelle in 1915 while rushing forwards to cut the wire entanglements preventing his battalion advancing, and this brave action earned him the VC. Add together the individual digits of the day plus the number of the month (January=1, February=2 etc) when this happened (on the newspaper article) to give D.

After the Great War, Harry was part of the Army Physical Training trapeze and diving team and there is a photograph of the team in the 1920's. E = the number of members standing or sitting on the steps in the photo.

Harry Daniels died on his 69th birthday, on 13th December 19F3.

The final cache is a short walk away via footpaths at N 52° 34.ABC, E 001° 06.DEF. The terrain rating is due to the fact there is no footpath at GZ so please take care when retrieving.

PLEASE NOTE the magnet will only stick to the circular bit of the host, not the flat part. The cache will fall off otherwise!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
