Geocache Description:

**Cache is not hidden at the posted coordinates**

Stealth is required with several businesses at GZ.  Best attempted on evenings or weekends.

About four months ago Sneaky decided she would like to start building birdhouses to give as gifts and use as geocache hosts.  She created a Pinterest board with lots of cute ideas and even some free plans.  Sneaky has not done a lot of building things with wood, although she did build some garden boxes with Mr. Sneaky a couple summers ago.  That took a lot of planning and they settled on a design that needed nine boards per box and only five cuts on three boards.  But who’s counting?

Sneaky decided to build a prototype of a very simple birdhouse and went to check her garage to see what kind of boards were available.  She remembered an eight-foot board in her garage that would do nicely.  But… Sneaky forgot she had cut up that board for crafts.  Hmmm, she wanted to spend exactly zero dollars on this prototype and searched a bit longer until she found some leftover scraps that would have to do.  If she measured just right, there would be enough wood to make this happen.

By this time it was already nine o’clock at night and Sneaky wondered if she should leave this for another day, but she really wanted to get her next geocache out before Christmas, so that meant getting started.  The count of tools owned by Sneaky is null.  Lucky for her, Mr. Sneaky has some tools that will do the trick.  She was short about nine screws, which she soon found at the back of a cupboard in the garage.  The container to go inside the birdhouse is seven inches square but none of her boards were wide enough, zero, not even one.  After a several mis-measures and having to improvise with other scraps of wood the birdhouse was finally done.  What a mish-mash of boards; but Sneaky was somewhat pleased with the result.  She opened the lid to put the lock and lock container inside and…  it didn’t fit.

“Are you kidding me!?” she exclaimed.  “After all that work, I can’t even fit a container in here?  I’ll have to adjust the plans for the real project.”  Sneaky went online to look at some other plans.  She had overcome every obstacle along the way and thought there must be another way to attach the lid.  It turned out there was!  Sneaky cut off the top overhang, about six inches, she was not measuring anymore but just winging it.  She reattached the lid and Voila!  Success!!

When she started at nine o’clock she was so certain it would only take an hour to finish the project.  It was much MUCH later than that now and she was exhausted.  Maybe this birdhouse building business was not for her.  Sneaky knew it would be a long time before she would attempt to build another birdhouse and declared “I’m going to use this birdhouse for the cache host!”.  She painted the sides and added two hinges plus two hanging brackets.  The next day Sneaky and Geopunk headed out to place the cache, just in time before Christmas.  A few days later, Sneaky was very pleased when she got her own toolbox and tool set from the Sneaky Bunch for Christmas.  Maybe another birdhouse project is in her future after all.  However, this one…  It’s Not For The Birds.
