Sunday 3rd March 2019 is Clean Up Australia Day
This CITO is happening in conjunction with an official Clean Up Australia Day (CUAD) event, organised by the Downfall Creek Bushland Centre and Brisbane City Council to provide volunteers to help clean up Raven St Reserve. The organisers have been contacted and are delighted that we will assist their cleanup. All attendees will need to sign in and out on the CUAD register provided.
All attendees will earn the first of two CITO souvenirs on offer for 2019.
As usual, please wear appropriate clothing, headwear and footwear, BYO sunscreen and water, and bring a grabber tool or gloves if you can. Bags will be provided. You will find a range of trails to explore, and a few geocaches on offer in the reserve for you to find along the way if you haven't already. Kids are most welcome, and there is a playground in the centre for when they reach their limit and need a break.
Information on this CUAD event can be found by clicking here. The CUAD event official hours are from 0800 to 1300, however attendees of this CITO need only attend between 0830 and 0930. Council has stated they will provide a free sausage sizzle and wildlife show, however this may not be occuring during the CITO timeframe, you may wish to stay longer for these activities.
