Geocache Description:

As per A Bridge Too Bar #1A, this is the first bridge on my walk to meet my friends on dry days as the slope down to the canal can be very slippery and muddy in the rain. The bridge itself is pretty ugly which is a real shame as this is a stunning and quiet stretch of canal.

If you are looking for a quick walk, you can do a circular walk and loop back to the parking at the end of Harvey Road or if you are feeling energetic, continue along the rest of the walk towards Rickmansworth or even the entire cache route which will take you to Harefield, (approx. 5 miles there). Alternatively, you can pop back and park up further down the canal, I'd pick up #2 from this direction first though if you are wanting to collect them all.

This cache is located at the bridge where the Met Line from crosses the Grand Union Canal. The canal is a fasinating piece of history and still thrive sfor recrational purposes and people choosing an alternative life style and living on the multitude of different boats you will see along the way. If you continue along towards Rickmansworth, (and cache #2), some of the boats are amazing, from old Dutch barges to some conversions that probably wouldn't quite make it onto Grand Designs. The people on the boats are generally incredibly friendly people, be sure to say hi as you pass by but also please respect that you are walking past their front doors and windows, please don't be tempted to peep inside their living rooms.

You are looking for a magnetic cache. Please replace carefully. I walk this route pretty much every week, please message me if you find any problems with the cache.
