Generations from now, people will tell stories about an ancient ritual which was celebrated daily. According to research, it went something like this.....
1. Individuals would depart from their place of work.
2. Individuals would find a place to congregate and remove paper boxes from their pockets or sleeves.
3. Each individual would remove a single paper cylinder from the box - or potentially "bum" one from another individual.
4. Fire would then be introduced to the ritual, where one individual would hold a portable flame to the end of the paper cylinder.
5. The cylinder, filled with dried plant leaves, would catch fire.
6. Individuals would then place the ignited cylinder between their lips and inhale.
7. After pausing for a moment, individuals would then exhale the exahust from the burning leaves.
8. While engaging in this ritual, participants would often discuss their spouses or their bosses, share gossip about co-workers, debate politics, or curse the owner/manager of their favorite sports team.
9. After the cylinder had burned down to ash, individuals would return to their place of work.
10. Ritual would repeat itself every hour or two throughout the day.
Archeologists are fascinated that this highly social ritual involved neither a USB drive nor oils nor vapor.
