Geocache Description:

A multi cache that you solve as you go, from one parking spot, no driving around or backtracking. Its a fun adventure, give it a try. You get to enjoy the sounds of river rapids right in the middle of town. One of many caches you can easily walk to from this parking spot. Some tree skills required

Located in a City Park in Arlington, visited by joggers, birdwatchers, bikers, and rabbit watchers. Some paved trails, then off you go across the creek. If you went to Second Grade at Dunn Elementary then you will recognize this area as the site of our annual wetlands walk. If there has been lots of rain, the creek may be too high too cross. IF you can't see the rapids, DO NOT CROSS the creek. Come back another day, or even a few hours later, when the creek goes back down.

Your task is to find 2 numbers (a, b), and plug them into the final coordinates (below), then fight thru the mud and skeeters and stench of wild onions (quite nice, actually) to locate the final cache.

Hazard Warnings:
Mud -- Always present unless its been dry for weeks . . .
Flood - Don't come during heavy rain! I mean it! . . .
Splash - Decent chance of that . . .
Snakes - Seen a few, but not too often . . .
Thugs - Beautiful thug free Arlington!! . . .
Poison Ivy - Yes, but not bad at all, if you do it right . . .
Greenbriar - A little bit . . .
Skeeters - Usually not too bad, except the day you go.
Sand in your shoes - Mandatory . . .
Bobcat scat - most likely
Math skill usage - Algebra, I think it is
Dendrology - Tree I.D. skills helpful, or utensil knowlege

THE TASKS:
Park at the coordinates given. This should be near a sign giving you the name of this park. You, my friend, are heading east down the path.

Final Cache coordinates:

N 32 42. 65 a___ W 097 10. b___ 35

Next, proceed down the path, generally east, til you see a bridge. How many tons can this bridge support? This load limit is secret number a___.

Now cross the bridge and head South down the path seeking the soothing sounds of Rush Creek Rapids. Get as close to the rapids as you can without leaving the paved path. You will still be able to see the bridge. Now follow the dirt path straight down the hill to the rapids and prepare to cross the creek. Do be careful . . . . I've crossed 100's of times and still stick a foot in the water from time to time, as its hard to remember which rocks wobble and which ones don't. Secret number b___ is on the back of a willow tree inline with the angle of the rapids. If you could keep going striaght across you would find the tree easily. You will probably have to just get across, then line yourself up with the rocks of the rapids..

Once you get those numbers plugged into the GPS, come back across the creek and decide if you want the easy way or the path of greatest adventure. Easy way is to get back on the paved trail and follow it south a bit to get to the cache. Look for a path under a sideways tree. Adventurous folks will take the dirt path that starts about 15 feet up the hill from the creek (maybe 1/2 way between the creek and the paved path). Good luck, watch for critters! The cache requires a bit of tree scrambling - be careful, and watch out for bobcat scat. Please hide the cache well after your done - its been nabbed before.
