This is a short trail, going round in a loop, where you can hunt the “Fairy Trail” and the “Ruff Road”.
You can start from the car park at the castle (Cache 1: Log the Fairy Door) and take a leisurely walk through the Chinese Garden, down the hill towards the Fairy Glen, along the shores of Loch Lomond, before heading back up the hill to the castle. Shouldn’t take much more than an hour.
This is a popular place for dog walkers, and the “Ruff Road” is dedicated to my favourite animal.
The caches are small, you might need tweezers. Please replace exactly as found and ensure they are closed properly.
The Old English Sheepdog is a large, athletic dog breed with an unmistakable shaggy coat. The Old English Sheepdog was historically a drover, helping farmers drive cattle and sheep to the market. Today, the good-natured Old English Sheepdog enjoys the comfort of home life and still competes in conformation, obedience, agility, and herding trials. He’s an adaptable, intelligent dog with an easygoing disposition.
