The Hidden Emeralds Challenge
This is a challenge cache and the container is hidden at the posted coordinates.
The Hidden Emeralds Challenge is a homage to the traditional geocache type and a variation on the conventional Hidden on Date challenge.
For this challenge you must find 366 different traditional geocaches that have been hidden on 366 different days of the year. The year they were placed is irrelevant, the date you find them is irrelevant, you are only concerned with the day and the month they were hidden.
For example, find a traditional cache hidden on January 1st of any year, January 2nd of any year (Leap Day - February 29th included), and so on through December 31st.
All past traditional finds count, any size traditional cache container counts. So all the past emerald green cache icons you have found will help you qualify for this challenge.
As required for all new challenges, I have included a checker at the bottom of the page.
The output of your checker should have one cache filled into every calendar date.
My completed calendar is pictured below:
The container is a true small, a sandwich sized lock n lock spray painted black with Geocache written on the lid. I have given a direct hint and included two spoiler photos.
Even if you don’t qualify, feel free to stop by, sign the log and post a note on the cache page.
This cache is located just above one strand of Portland’s Emerald Necklace, aka the Pittock Bird Sanctuary, so enjoy your time in the green forest. There is a big parking pullout near gz, and parking coordinates are provided.
Thanks for looking. Enjoy the Hidden Emeralds Challenge and the cache.
