This cache highlights an authentic Japanese Tea House which has been gifted to the people of the Whanganui District for their enjoyment by Whanganui's sister city Nagaizumi-cho in Japan. The tea house was moved from the Japanese Friendship Centre in Duncan Street, Wanganui East to the Bason Botanic Gardens in 2015. The area around the house is planted with bamboo and cherry trees and is open to the public for tea ceremonies in spring.
Some of you may remember my original cache that was here called Lakeside (GC52MWV). This cache was archived due to the introduction of the Japanese Tea House.
