This cache is close to my first hide and I acknowledge I am enjoying my journey with geocaching. Time for another hide along the Djerring Trail, this one close to the legendary Rosstown Woodland which I just discovered while researching this area. The woodland is small but the pylons from the Skyrail are the new urban forest.
The cache is along the new 17 kilometers of shared path which was created for cyclists and pedestrians from Caulfield to EastLink Trail following the railway line. The overwhelming winning name from a competiton held was the Djerring Trail. The word 'djerring' comes from the Bunurong language and translates to 'join', 'unite' or 'connect'.
The new car park here for Carnegie station is well used by commuters so during the working week in the day time there maybe no parks - its a different story after hours. The only entrance to the car park I found is from WOORAYL STREET.
Security is state of the art here with a number of CCTV cameras around. Gz just might be out of reach of the camera. There are enclosed balconies of apartments close by so some stealth is required at night.
The Cache - You are looking for a 500ml decor container containing a log, a pencil and a medallion for the FTF - that went to ClairExplorer. Everyone is welcome to a token for anyone who wants one, let me know if the supply runs short. - The lid seal is pretty cool - ( far superior to an eclipse tin.) This place can be crawling with muggles and as stated the car park can be full from train commuters - so choose your timing retrieving and replacing. Please cover and camouflage the cache as found.
