Looking for some heartwarming smiles? Come to the Dajia Smile Wall (大佳歡樂牆)! The Smile Wall was built in 1999 by a team led by Tsu-Ming Yeh (葉子明).
The mural mosaic wall is 350 meters long with 59 smiley faces on it. The team took as many as photos of smiley faces from children to the elderly, which were then made into mosaic patterns. Btw, because it is very difficult to see the whole picture, you can try it on Google earth or some other map software! It is just too amazing to describe.
However, the tiles gradually became damaged over time and was reconstructed in 2014. Sadly to say, six faces were too damaged to recognized and fixed, so... six new faces were added on in 2014! The Smile Wall again came back as a cheerful spot of Tamsui Riverside (淡水河岸).
